Masters of Science in Animal Sciences
The M.S. degree in Animal Sciences trains students to develop advanced dairy, immunology, nutritional physiology, obesity and diabetes, reproductive physiology and vascular biology and cardiovascular disease and prepares students for future careers in technical consulting, education, and research in academic, industrial, and government institutions. The degree requires development and completion of thesis research, of publishable quality, in a chosen area of specialization. In addition, M.S. students are considered an integral part of the teaching program within the department and, as such, are provided ample opportunity to gain teaching experience in a variety of offered courses.
You are encouraged to identify faculty members who would be interested in serving as your mentor during your graduate studies. Visit the websites of our Department Faculty and contact them directly for further information.
There are excellent opportunities for qualified students to compete for teaching and research assistantships that provide a stipend and waive tuition costs.
