Bioscience and Technology Option Degree Requirements
In addition to the general education requirements, Animal Sciences students are required to take the following courses:

- ANSC 511 Anatomy and Physiology and ANSC 512 Anatomy and Physiology or ZOOL 518 Vertebrate Morphology and ZOOL 625/626 Principles of Animal Physiology
- CHEM 545 Organic Chemistry or CHEM 651-2 Organic Chemistry
- BIOL 604 Genetics
- BCHM 658 General Biochemistry or BCHM 751-2 Principles of Biochemistry
- ANSC 750 Nutritional Biochemistry
- Three 700-level ANSC courses
In addition to the above courses, the following Animal Science Core must be successfully completed.
- ANSC 406 Careers in Animal Science
- CHEM 403 and 404 General Chemistry
- ENGL 501 Introduction to Prose Writing*
Students in this option should choose an area of concentration, such as pathobiology, cell biology, nutrition, reproductive physiology, genetics, or immunology. See your advisor for an appropriate selection of electives.
*Students may substitute ENGL 503 - Persuasive Writing, ENGL 519 - Intro to Critical Analysis, or ENGL 529 - Writing About Literature.
