Preveterinary Medicine Degree Requirements
In addition to the general education requirements, prevet. students are required to take the following courses:

- PHYS 402 Introduction to Physics II
- MATH 424 Calculus for Life Sciences and BIOL 528 Applied Statistics I*
- MICR 503 General Microbiology
- ANSC 511 Anatomy and Physiology
- ANSC 512 Anatomy and Physiology
- BIOL 604 Genetics
- CHEM 651 Organic Chemistry
- CHEM 652 Organic Chemistry
- BCHM 658 General Biochemistry
- ANSC 750 Nutritional Biochemistry
- One 700-level ANSC course
In addition to the above courses, the following Animal Science Core must be successfully completed.
- ANSC 406 Careers in Animal Science
- CHEM 403 & 404 General Chemistry
- ENGL 501 Introduction to Prose Writing**
*Some veterinary schools may require one full year of calculus. Students intending to apply to such schools should consult with their advisor about appropriate calculus courses in which to enroll.
**Students may substitute ENGL 503 - Persuasive Writing, ENGL 519 - Intro to Critical Analysis, or ENGL 529 - Writing About Literature.
