Honors-In-Major
Students are required to maintain an overall 3.20 grade point average and a 3.20 in major coursework.
Complete any three of the following courses:
- ANSC 612H Genetics of Domestic Animals
- ANSC 623H Comparative Histology
- ANSC 701H Physiology of Reproduction
- ANSC 702H Endocrinology
- ANSC 704H Principles of Pathobiology
- ANSC 715H Physiology of Lactation
- ANSC 718H Mammalian Physiology
- ANSC 750H Nutritional Biochemistry
- ANSC 814 Research Methods in Endocrinology
- ANSC 851 Cell Culture
Complete a Seniors Honor Thesis
- ANSC 799 - Honors Senior Thesis (5-8 credits required; 1-4 credits can be taken per semester; two semesters required and a written thesis)
Note: The time and room schedule usually will not list honors sections for the 600- or 700-level courses above. Students wishing to receive honors credit for these courses should inform the course instructor, who will file appropriate paperwork to ensure appropriate registration. Registration for honors sections is not necessary for the 800-level courses.
Note: Occasionally an instructor may be willing to offer an honors section for a course other than those listed above. Only 600 level or above permitted. See Departmental Honors Liaison for Pre-Approval. All students must register with the Departmental Honors Liaison by the beginning of their Junior year.
